Urban Knights is a programme of events, which provokes and promotes practical approaches to urban change. Established in Dublin the programme brings together people who are actively creating alternatives, which reflect or produce disruptions to our given city infrastructures, norms and perceptions.

Acting as a platform for awareness, exchange and dissemination, urban knights, change agents and citizens present their civic interventions, projects and programmes.

At each event speakers present and discuss their work for 10-mins,
followed by questions and conversations with the audience.

With speakers from US, Russia, India, Germany and Greece.

Theodore Ullrich [US]
Engineer, designer and founder of Tomorrow’s Lab, New York
presents various works from the lab with emphasis on city transport systems

Valentia Karga [GR/DE]
Artist, architect and founder of the “Summer school for Applied Autonomy”
presents projects and interventions aimed at developing an urban commons

Shriya Malhotra [IN/RU]
Civic collaborator and maker shares the outcomes of projects from Moscow, Berlin and New York, which engage citizens in questions around the build environment

Bastian Lange [DE]
Urban and economic geographer
discusses urban policy and socioeconomic transformation in relation to Berlin’s creative communities

Urban Knights is curated by Teresa Dillon. The 2014 programme is produced in partnership with Transmediale, Denkerei, LEAP & Studio Weise7, Berlin & Science Gallery, Dublin with support from Dublin City Council.
